Checklist of Items You’ll Need from Recommended Professionals
Posted by Sam Harvison on 23 January 2025 02:27 PM

This checklist outlines the key information you’ll need from your referral partners to feature them on your website and boost their exposure. Feel free to copy and paste this checklist into an email, print it for in-person meetings, or communicate it over the phone, depending on the situation.

The goal is not just to list businesses but to build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with partners who will consistently refer clients to you.

Why This Matters:

By featuring trusted professionals on your site, you’re creating opportunities for them to promote you on theirs as a preferred mortgage company. This mutual promotion drives traffic to both of your websites and increases referrals. If they don’t have a website, no problem! You can still list them, and in return, provide them with your business cards and marketing materials to share with their clients.

Remember, you’re offering value by showcasing their business, which helps you both. If the partnership isn’t producing consistent referrals, it’s time to replace them with someone who will.

How to Paint the Picture of Value:

  • Highlight the marketing investment you’ve made in driving traffic to your website.
  • Showcase your position on Google or Yahoo! to demonstrate top-tier search engine placement.
  • Mention your e-Newsletter system, which promotes your referral partners to up to 2,000 contacts each month.

By advertising them on your website and actively marketing them through your other efforts, you create loyalty and consistent referral business. The more people talk about your services, the less you’ll need to spend on paid marketing.

Checklist of Items to Gather:

  • Company Name: Full business name for proper listing.
  • Full Name: Include the name of the primary contact.
  • Job Title/Position: Specify their role.
  • Geographic Area or Territory: A city, community, or region they primarily serve.
  • Short Business Description: A brief overview of their services, specialties, or niche. Keep it concise (256 characters max).
  • Email Address: For direct client communication.
  • Web Address: To link their site to yours.
  • Phone Number: Provide a direct line for clients to contact them.
  • Photo or Company Logo: Visual branding to enhance their profile on your site.

Note: We will only link to your website if you also include a prominent link back to our site.
