Adding the Google reviews plugin and reviews to site

**THIS IS ONLY AVAILABLE ON V2 WORDPRESS SITES, the plugin isn't supported in v1 anymore**

  • Activate "WP Google Review Slider" plugin
    • WordPress Dashboard > Plugins > WP Google Review Slider > Activate
    • Click "Skip" on next step
    • Click " Get Google Reviews Tab"
    • Click Select button under "Crawl Google Review Page"
      • You will need to obtain either the Place ID or search location
        • Instructions for finding this info are in this screen you can click the "Need help finding your Google Search Terms or Place ID?" Link
      • Once the plugin finds the location click the green "Download Reviews" button
        • Note: the free version of the plugin can only download 50 reviews (which is more than enough!)
      • Once green success message appears you can move on, don't close tab or click anything while it is downloading
    • Create a reviews widget template
      • Click the "Templates" tab
        • Click "Add New Reviews Template" button
        • Give Template a title, something like "Homepage Reviews" or something descriptive of where it will be on the site
        • Set all options to "Yes" except for Show Date, set it to No
        • Change Text Color 1 and Text Color 2 to black if on a white background, or white if on a dark background
        • Set how many per row to display, but leave as 1 row, it looks weird if it's more than 1 row
        • I usually set to show newest first
        • You can filter by on 5 star if you want to
        • If they have more than 4 reviews you can set it to shoe in a slider and how many slides to show (keep it under 10, no need for more, try to keep it to 4 or 5 at the most)
        • Select Yes for Read More link
        • I'd leave show images off
        • Save Template
    • Add widget to site
      • Click "Shortcode" button
        • copy 1st shortcode
          • ex: [wprevpro_usetemplate tid="1"]
        • Paste into a text module or html module on page desired
    • Publish and you're done!
