Best Practices for Recommended Professionals

The Recommended Professionals section of your 220 website is one of the best ways to support your referral partnerships. This is a unique feature of your 220 Marketing plan that empowers you to leverage your relationships, bring them more deals and in turn encourage those professionals to send you more business.

Who to Add

You should add any professional that you have a good working relationship with and that you would recommend a close friend to contact. This is not limited to the industries that directly correspond with your profession. As an example, if you are a Loan Officer, don’t limit yourself to Realtors, Insurance agents, and title companies. Add in your recommended, CPA, Financial Planner, Pool Cleaning company, Landscaper, Barber/Stylist, Therapists, etc.

How This Helps Your Business

When you add someone to your website, it creates a mini profile for them that you can email or text to someone you work with, driving that traffic to your website. This in turn helps your branding and you can even show a referral partner the traffic to their page, showing them a tangible, provable number of times you are promoting them.

You can share these profiles easily in your email marketing and social media. Promotion via social media is one of the best ways to support these professionals that you recommend, putting their business directly in front of your past clients and audience.

Here’s a little food for thought, how much would you pay for each of your referral partners to promote your business to their clients and audience?

Encourage your partners to showcase you on their website as well, creating quality backlinks from your website to theirs, and vice versa.

 

How to Add

Your system has 2 very easy solutions to add new professionals to your site. You don’t need to play web designer, all you need to do is add in the professional’s information that you recommend, hit save and your referral partner will have a listing on your site. We would advise that you add your referral partners information and then email them a link to review/add missing information instead of asking for permission. You can generally pull their contact information from their website or online profiles.

  1. Log directly into your 220 Admin Panel from your desktop, laptop, cell phone, or tablet.
    1. Find Partners on the menu, and then select “Create.”
    2. Fill in the person’s name in the title, select a category and fill in the rest of the information.

Important Information to Include

Use your referral partner’s name as the title instead of the company they work for. You want to be promoting the individual you trust, not the company itself. Include a picture of your partner, the listing on your site won’t look anywhere near as professional or complete without one. Fill in as many fields as you can. Don’t leave something blank as each section is meant to be completed. Add a description to their profile, if you aren’t sure what to say, you can copy and paste whatever description the person has on their own business profiles. If for whatever reason a person doesn’t’ have a profile online, then you are helping them to become more visible online, so you will need to write your own description about their services and why you recommend them.

 

Having More Than One Professional Your Recommend for a Category

Many clients are understandably concerned about having more than one insurance agent, Realtor, etc that you might recommend, but there is a simple way to approach this. First, keep in mind that you might not be the only Loan Officer, Insurance Agent, etc. that your partners might recommend. We’ve found that many people will recommend someone based on factors such as their location, personality, or expertise. It is okay to have more than one person you work with and just because you have another person in that category doesn’t mean you aren’t sending them business. This is where learning how to market these people comes in.

 

How to Market

Once you’ve uploaded all your recommended professionals it’s time to market them and leverage this feature of your 220 system. Start by sharing a link for one of your Recommended Professionals to your social media channels once a week. Start with any professional you want and work down your list. Once you’ve promoted each one, start again. Here is a sample caption that you could include when sharing the post: Check out this amazing financial advisor in our local area. NAME enjoys helping clients meet their financial needs and retirement goals! Make sure to tag or notify the person you are promoting so that they can see you are helping them with their business, and this will encourage them to promote you as well.

Once you have gotten this process down, you can start including one of these professionals in your Newsletter and/or Email Blasts. All you need to do here is include the reason why you recommend them and then include a link to the profile on your website. 

Finally, anytime you have someone looking for a referral, send them a link to the profile on your website. This will help with your branding, traffic, and SEO, which will all lead to increased business over time.
